A Study on identifying factors influencing purchase and perception of Customers on EXIDE Industrial Batteries with specific focus on textile mills in Tirupur


EXIDE is a dominant player in the Industrial Battery segment, with a product range covering capacities from 2.5 Ah to 10,000 Ah and more. Using the latest technological inputs, EXIDE manufactures industrial batteries for the power, telecom, infrastructure projects, computer industries, as well as the railways, mining and defense sectors.


 EXIDE Industries Limited, India's flagship of the storage battery industry- is also the largest Power Storage Solutions company in South and South East Asia. It manufactures the widest range of storage batteries in the world from 2.5Ah to 20,600Ah capacity, to cover the broadest spectrum of applications.


EXIDE is the market leader in manufacturing and holding the wider range of products and consumers. EXIDE now focuses on having a detailed knowledge on why they hold only 50% of the market share of industrial batteries. In Tamil Nadu, textile business is one of the leading industries. These industries are in huge number at Tirupur, one of the areas with very highly productive textile mills having huge import and export. These mills have huge consumption of power and require power backup for smooth working of the mills.


 The Study and Analysis of the existing problems will come up with suggestive measures of improvement. The study is intended to build strategies for future management of EXIDE’s industrial battery’s marketing activities in Tirupur textile mills with a study on 180 mills in Tirupur.


 


The research also helps in enabling a common platform of business operation. The TIF (Tirupur Industrial Federation) and EXIDE Industrial Battery had business tie-up, so that the needed business could be also be carried over with the help of TIF.
