 WIPRO Mumbai campus experience

Dear Friends

As you know that WIPRO donot shortlisted the students for Interview, instead it  issues a list of criteria for the Students who can appear for interview. Based on that criteria, I have decided to attend the interview of WIPRO.

First round of WIPRO was GD Round, where you will be provided a topic for group discussion. This GD is conducted between 10 students and around 2 minute is given to think about the topic before discussing. At last everyone have to conclude the topic on behalf of whole group (behalf of whole group, not your view points).

My topic of Group Discussion was “Do Privatization really help?”.  Though this topic appear to be easy but please note that it is not a discussion about the Privatization V/s  Public, but instead it is topic on whether is I helpful or not?

Based on this facts I have listed some importants facts about the topic and then GD strated. At the end everyone conclude the topic and then we were informed to wait outside for the result.

After  10 minute the result got declared for Personal interview and I was one of them lucky person who was selected for the Personal interview.

But before appearing for the final we were told to fill various form. This was the worst part of the WIPRO interview Program me. First we were given two form to be filled and submitted. The form was all about your CV. We have to just copy and paste the information from the CV to the form.Starting frm academic to your strength and weakness, we have to mention all information in the form.

After filling the form I went to them again to submit the form, but my luck they again provide me another form and blank page for writing a easy. The topic for easy was  “Challenge faced by today’s generation”. It was already 1PM noon and we were waiting for ITC written exam result. At sharp 1.10, I got the news that I got selected for the GD round of ITC.

Now, I was stuck in the middle. It was already 1.15 PM and two options were open to me, one to write the easy for WIPRO or to attend the GD of ITC.  Further, It was the time to take the lunch too.

Finally I started writing the easy and with in 10 that is at sharp 1.30 I finshed with my easy writing and all formality of WIPRO.

Then I attend the GD of  ITC and after attending the ITC GD I went back to WIPRO for my Personal Interview.

I asked them minimum how much time will it take to finished the Interview. (I asked this question by this time I was shortlisted for the PI of ITC and my first options was to go ITC rather than WIPRO, so I was planning to attend the WIPRO interview at last).

They told me to come after 1 hours. Mean while I attend the ITC interview and completed with all formality of ITC. After finishing the ITC formality I was about to go for WIPRO interview, but the ITC guys told me that I got selected for the Final round at kolkatta. So it is up to me whether I should attend the WIPRO interview or not?

But I thought, I must attend the interview atleast for the sake of experience and I went to 2nd floor to attend the WIPRO interview (By this time I ha already made my mind that I will reject the WIPRO offer if got selected)

 Now, WIPRO interview started:

First he asked to tell about my self so that in the mean while he can fill one more form.

Then he asked me whether i have any locality constraint, mean I am ready to get placed anywhere and ready to travel frequently.

I said yes I am ready.

Then he asked me about my favourite subject?
 Finnanical Accounting or Cost Accounting?

I told that my favourite subject is Cost Accounting.

But he replied that though I m familiar with Cost Accounting we will ASK QUESTION FROM FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (at this time I was so anygry that then why did you ask me about my favourite subject..huhhh…..)

Finally he asked me the following Financial Accounting Questions:

 1) Journal entry of Depricaiton?
 2) Journal entry o Foreign exchange?
 3) Jouurnal entry of Sale and disposal of Fixed assest ?
 4) Journal entry for Provision for Deperication?

At last, he told me you have mention that you own two website, what is this all about?

I told that I have a very good technical knowledge and I have a passion for the computer and even I had already worked for on PHP. Though I m non technical person but I know PHP and other programming language to certain extent.

Then he told me that we donot want a technical person, we want the person who can be cost consultant. By this time I got that I am not going to be selected by the WIPRO.
But I polietely asked him that during ppt session you have told that you want a technical person who remain up to date with technology and I am that guys. As compared to other I have good experience with computer.

But he told that yes we want the person with technical expertise but not a programmer. Because you will not allow to write the logic of any programme.

I said sorry but did not mean that I can write the source code of programme. By computer experience mean I am familiar with the computer language other wise it is not possible for me to write the programming.

 Then he replied Ok.

Then we have some informal talk with each other and at last he told me to wait outside.

After 15 minute that is after checking my resume and easy and analysising the other form submitted, he informed me that I m rejected and will not be allow to sit for HR round.

So finally I got rejected by WIPRO, but by this time I was already got selected by the ITC, so I went to first floor and then contact the ITC guys and he told me to visit the kolkatta for final round and ITC will reimburse all the expense.

This is how I got rejected by WIPRO and got selected by the ITC.

Friends, since I got my ITC result before by WIPRO interview, I was just doing time pass in WIPRO interview. But if you are going to appear for the WIPRO interview then please be prepared well.

The positive sign of wipro is that it has selected 22 students from Mumbai campus as compared to ITC who had selected three students only.

Again, please do not look for the spelling mistake and grammatical mistake in the article. It is intentionally written in the normal language. I am just trying to make you explain the suitation I have faced during my interview. I m not a professional writer and besides this please make a note that I used to write this article with in 20 minute and even that after coming back from my job @ night.

In the busy scheduled if I pay attention to the spelling mistake then I will never complete the article.

 HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND….

Minimum Package provided by WIPRO : 5.2 lakhs

Minimum Package provided by ITC and Polygel: Not disclosed

But, we expect 6.5 to 7 lakhs for ITC and 5 lakhs for Polygel company @ Mumbai Campus

This is bacause last time in 2012, ITC had provide a package of 6.2 lakhs.

Sorry it was my mistake. You are right it is 22 students.Thanx for correcting me.

and about three companies at Mumbai Campus???

No, it was not due to Cost Audit draft Rules. If it is so then why did there were 11 companies in SIRC Campus.

Actually no one know the real facts behind it.

The only thing we can assume that this time companies may not required a cost accountant from Western side and we will have better luck next time in June 2014 campus.

So,there is no specific reason for the same and even it has nothing to do with cost audit draft rules.
