Dear Taniya;

First of all i am gaad with your decision of doing MBA and CMA.Dual qualification and that MBA+CMA thats a good idea.All the best for your both exam.Now, coming to your query.I think it is totally depand on you want you wish to do. But i wish you must know the both side of the coin.

1) If you wish to get job in campus: If you wish to get a good job in campus then remember first attempt students are prefer in campus.So suppose you take the risk and get failed then probability of getting selected in campus get reduce. Going ahead, this is not a tumb of rule. There are the instance where the students who had not clear the CMA attempt are got selected by the well know companies. But to be on safe side, try your best to clear in first attempt.

2) If you are appearing for Inter: If you are appearing for Inter, then go ahead, no problem, because your performance in final is prefered over the inter result and further there would be total 6 subjects as per old syallbus.

3) If i am not wrong then this is the last exam for the students under syllabus 2008. So take a risk and go ahead, other wise from next term you will shift to new syallbus and you have to prepared for the exam again.

But please note, i don't think that this will be the last attempt. If there are sufficient number of students who did not cleared the exam in old syallbus then institute will continue with the old syallbus. Even in past they have enhanced the 2002 syallbus and 2002 syallbus last till 2012.But yes of course once you will clear the inter, you will be shift over to new syallbus.

4) For your information: Even i had faced the similar problem. The only difference was that i had attempt the exam group wise instead of both group together. But i had done BBA,MBA and CMA simultaneously.

So it is possible to clear the CMA exam though you are appearing for MBA exam in May.

5) Preparation time: I had started my preparation from the first month of registration. But since you have not started the preparation yet, so it will be little bit risky.

6) MBA and CMA syllabus:  Syllabus of MBA and CMA is almost similar. So if you prepared well for MBA then you can go for CMA.

At last, i think you must go for both group if the probability of passing is greater than 10%. Because this is the last year of 2008 syllabus and from next attempt you will be shift to new syllabus. But if the probability of getting pass is low then don't take risk. In my opinion there will be a one more attempt for 2008 syllabus in Dec. 2015.

I hope now got your answer. If you are still facing any problem then feel free to leave a message over here.
